Setting up an RV stay

An RV stay starts at the Guest Services Desk at Gold Eagle Casino. Guests check in there with a SIGA Rewards card, the players card used at the 7 SIGA casinos. The card costs nothing. Security or the Casino Shift Manager then approves the stay.

Spots are first come, first served, and no reservations are taken. Without a reservation system, a spot depends on what is free when the RV pulls in. Everyone travelling in the RV must be 19 or older. There is no limit on how long a stay lasts.

Rules on the RV lot

  1. Power at the RV spots has very limited voltage.
  2. No alcohol is allowed in the RV parking areas.
  3. Open fires are not allowed, and tents need management approval.
  4. Garbage bins are there, but there is no disposal for liquid waste.
  5. Loud music and parties are not allowed.

The three charging stations

  • 7.2kWLevel 2, ChargePoint, 2 vehicles
  • 11.5kWLevel 2, Porsche charger
  • 65.5 to 125kWLevel 3, DC fast, 1 vehicle

Gold Eagle Casino has 3 charging stations for electric vehicles. A Level 2 charger is a standard plug-in unit that charges at a moderate pace, suited to a longer stop. The Level 2 ChargePoint station serves 2 vehicles at up to 7.2 kW. A kW, or kilowatt, measures how fast power reaches the car. A second Level 2 unit, a Porsche charger, gives up to 11.5 kW.

Level 3 means a DC fast charger, which feeds the battery directly and fills it much faster. The casino's Level 3 station serves 1 vehicle at between 65.5 kW and 125 kW. Funding for the Level 3 charging came from the SaskPower Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program and Natural Resources Canada. Charging is paid by the hour, and the rates are on the casino's own page at goldeaglecasino.ca.
